Cultural & Creative Industries as a driver of development & identity formation

Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) are one of the key sectors that influence growth and individual development, as they provide economic revenues, promote innovation and improve social inclusion. They are a diverse range of industries including arts and cultural industries, media and communications, historic buildings and monuments, and creative industries such as the games and design industries. In this way, CCIs create cultural and creative products and services that are unrivalled and which, as such, could present a relative competitive advantage, from an economic point of view. In addition, they contribute to environmental protection, involve local people and strengthen regional culture. In the further development of CCIs, more and more actors see aesthetic cooperation, exchanges and industry creation as a force for cultural diplomacy, economic innovation and social inclusion for both local and global development.
